Counseling Services crisis supports during normal campus College hours
Please call (402) 844-7277 or (402) 844-7272 and say it's a crisis or walk over to Union 73 and tell someone it's a crisis
Any student in a crisis that involves suicidal or homicidal thoughts is helped throughout the day, no appointment necessary.
Other crisis supports
Some students prefer to talk with someone unaffiliated with the college, after college hours, when the college is closed, or are having difficulty accessing other resources for any reason. Counseling Services does want that to stand in the way of students getting the care that they need. These are some of the community and national resources that provide urgent mental health services and are not affiliated with Northeast. Below is a non-comprehensive list of facilities for use in outside referrals
BHS CARE LINE 24/7 toll free crisis care line (888) 370-7003.
National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (great option for situations related to self-harm and suicidal thoughts): (800) 273-8255.
Crisis TextLine (great option if talking in voice to someone is a barrier): Text 'HOME' to 741741 to be connected.
