911 Basic Telecommunicator

Course is offered Hybrid with 25 hours online and 15 hours in person. The 40-hour 911 Dispatcher Basic Training is designed to provide comprehensive instruction and hands-on practice for individuals aspiring to become emergency dispatchers or seeking to enhance their skills in emergency call handling. This course covers the fundamental knowledge, technical skills, and essential competencies required to excel in the critical role of a 911 dispatcher. The course meets the requirements of the Nebraska Public Service Commission dispatcher standards 40-hour basic training. Financial assistance is available through the Community College Gap Assistance Program for students meeting income guidelines. For more information about GAP, please call (402) 844-7245. Astronomy: How to Enjoy the Night Sky

This course will concentrate on methods and equipment for sky enjoyment starting with your eyes and equipment you may already have – including your smartphone, laptop, or tablet. This class largely avoids the science behind the objects in the sky and will help you enjoy them without special equipment, use the equipment you already have, or select equipment to buy if you want to take your interest to the next level. Bring a laptop. tablet, or smartphone if you have them (not required). Please note - this class is different from the course previously offered. If you took the previous class, you might enjoy this one too!
