Advancing Precision Ag in the Urban Environment
With grant funding and assistance from the National Science Foundation, Northeast Community College is working to develop high school and college level content about precision agriculture technologies and their application to horticulture and urban agriculture settings. These interactive lessons help develop a pathway for students interested in pursuing education in agriculture and horticulture.
Agriculture Educators can access the lessons found on this website to enhance or supplement the lessons they teach in their classrooms. They can also contact our Precision Ag Trainer, Courtney Nelson, to visit their classroom and provide these lessons. To learn more about Courtney and how to sign up for a classroom visit, view Ag Lessons
High school and college students can interact with the lessons to explore how the areas of precision agriculture, horticulture, and urban agriculture overlap. Careers in these areas can be exciting. Students without previous agriculture knowledge can excel in these areas!
People that work in the horticulture and precision ag industries can explore new ways in which technology and automated systems can be used to make their work more efficient, more sustainable, and more accurate.
