911 Basic Telecommunicator

Course is offered Hybrid with 25 hours online and 15 hours in person. The 40-hour 911 Dispatcher Basic Training is designed to provide comprehensive instruction and hands-on practice for individuals aspiring to become emergency dispatchers or seeking to enhance their skills in emergency call handling. This course covers the fundamental knowledge, technical skills, and essential competencies required to excel in the critical role of a 911 dispatcher. The course meets the requirements of the Nebraska Public Service Commission dispatcher standards 40-hour basic training. Financial assistance is available through the Community College Gap Assistance Program for students meeting income guidelines. For more information about GAP, please call (402) 844-7245. American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED

This course is delivered in a Hybrid format (part online and part in-person). Participants will complete online part prior to in-person skills session. The online session introduces participants to the knowledge-based aspects of Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED, as well as the skills they will practice and master during the in-person skills session. Details on how to access the online session will be emailed when registration is complete. The American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED program helps participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac and breathing emergencies for adults. This course teaches the knowledge and skills needed to give immediate care to adult and pediatric patients and to decide whether advanced medical care is needed in a cardiac or breathing emergency.

American Red Cross Basic Life Support

The online session introduces participants to the knowledge-based aspects of Basic Life Support, as well as the skills they will practice and master during the in-person skills session. The American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) course provides participants with the knowledge and skills they need to assess, recognize and care for patients who are experiencing respiratory arrest, cardiac arrest, airway obstruction or opioid overdose. When a patient experiences a life-threatening emergency, healthcare providers need to act swiftly and promptly. The course emphasizes providing high-quality care and integrating psychomotor skills with critical thinking and problem solving to achieve the best possible patient outcomes.
