Grain Originator - Norfolk, NE

Job Description:

The Grain Originator will be responsible for procuring soybeans and providing risk management services to local farmers. This position will help the Director of Trading and Merchandising achieve company goals while maintaining a strong relationship with customers, both external and internal. The Grain Originator will also help with other daily activities to deliver the best customer experience to the farmer and other commercial companies.

Job Requirements

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate well-developed competencies and have an Entrepreneurial Spirit in the following areas: Trading and Compliance • Ability to develop new territories that will help achieve company targets. • Have a safety-first mindset. • Experience in the soybean industry or like experience. • Knowledge of state and federal regulations along with NGFA and NOPA trade rules • Works well in a fast-paced environment • Has an entrepreneurial mindset • Has the ability to work well with cross functional team members. • Ability to travel within territory as well as occasional overnight travel. • Onboarding of new customers • Manage relationships with other grain companies. • Knowledge of grain accounting software, Microsoft office, Railroad billing software, and other software is needed. • Strong understanding of grain originations, freight spreads, hedging and risk management
