Position Description: We’re looking to hire a Field Service Technician to provide installation and maintenance for equipment in the field. This position requires the ability to adapt to a variety of work environments and quickly solve problems. During the 4-5 month growing season, Field Service Technicians will primarily be on the road. The rest of the year will be spent primarily working at the office on production-related tasks, but may also involve some travel and field service work. A company vehicle is provided during work hours. This role provides an incredible opportunity to learn the foundation of our business and develop a successful and rewarding career in the agriculture industry! Responsibilities Install or upgrade equipment in various field locations within a 300-mile radius from Norfolk. Occasional travel across the U.S. may be required to support dealers in other key markets. Configure hardware and software components after installation. Perform routine maintenance on equipment. Testing of equipment and troubleshooting issues. Document equipment installations and repairs. Teach customers how to use equipment properly. Manage the stock of replacement parts and equipment. Typical hours for this position average 40-50 per week, with up to 60 hours during the busy season.

Job Requirements

High school diploma required, trade school certificate or associate degree is preferred. Must have a valid driver's license. Center pivot and electrical background is preferred. Strong customer service skills. Written and verbal communication skills to understand issues customers have and to explain technical information to customers in clear terms. Problem-solving skills to diagnose problems with malfunctioning equipment. Time-management skills to handle appointments efficiently and stay on schedule. Attention to detail to spot issues and complete accurate reports about repairs. Organizational skills to keep tools and equipment organized while in the field. Computer and technical skills to understand the equipment fully.
