Description: Sioux City Fire Rescue is an internationally accredited agency serving the citizens and visitors of Sioux City since 1888. We are seeking to fill a position of Fire Fighter/Fire Fighter Paramedic to help us fulfill our mission. This position reports directly to a company commander and engages directly in emergency operations. Additionally, the position performs non-emergency functions such as fire prevention and public education activities; drives and operates fire vehicles and emergency equipment; assists in the maintenance and repair of fire stations, vehicles, and equipment; does related work as required. Fire Fighter EMT-A –Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license at the time of application. Provide verification of certification as a State of Iowa or Nationally Registered EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) at the time of a conditional offer by the Fire Chief. Firefighter Paramedic- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license at the time of application. Must hold EMT Paramedic Certification at the time of application. Candidate must pass a physical agility test called CPAT which will be administered by the City. If you have successfully passed the CPAT elsewhere between 10/21/2023 and 10/21/2024, the City will accept your test results if they are submitted to us no later than 10/21/2024. Job Requirements

Minimum Required Qualifications: Provide verification of certification as a State of Iowa or Nationally Registered EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) at the time of a conditional offer by the Fire Chief. Required: 1. Must possess a valid driver’s license at the time of application. 2. Graduation from High School or a General Educational Development (GED) required. 3. Must be at least (18) eighteen years old at the time of application.
