NENCAP is looking for Early Childhood Teacher to guide and care for children birth through age 3 in our Early Head Start (EHS) Program in Norfolk, NE. 40 hours per week M-F. The Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) starting wage is $17.00 per hour, plus benefits. Wage increasing with education and experience. May be subject to layoff periods. Bilingual skills a plus. EHS Teachers are responsible for understanding, planning, and implementing developmentally appropriate activities for children birth through age three. EOE 80% Federally Funded Non-Profit Agency JOB SUMMARY: Early Head Start (EHS) Teachers are responsible for understanding, planning, and implementing developmentally appropriate activities for children birth through age three. Promote nurturing and bonding relationships. Encourage self-help skills and provide consistent routines. Work with families to identify goals, strengths, needs and support them in a process which leads them toward self-sufficiency. Assist children in establishing good habits of personal hygiene; change diapers so children are comfortable. Develop weekly lesson plans and send to supervisor. Conduct screenings within 45 days of enrollments. Communicate with parents on a regular basis. Complete required educational home visits with Parent/Teacher conferences for each child. Attend and participate in children’s MDT and IFSP meetings. Enter documentation for each child and manage child data/reports through the on-line assessment system. Maintain a clean organized room. Frequent kneeling, stooping, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Maintain confidentiality of program participants and follow Program and Agency standards and policies. WAGE & BENEFITS: The starting wage is $17.00 per hour, plus benefits. Wage increasing with education and experience. Benefits include health, life, dental and vision insurance. Job Requirements
- EDUCATION: An Associate’s, Bachelor’s or advance degree in early childhood education or a related field with experience in teaching 0-3 early education and care or a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. **The program provides opportunities for staff to obtain a Child Development Associate Credential or advance a degree.
