HVAC Technician - Columbus, NE & surrounding area w/in 40 miles

Job Description:

• Service, diagnose/troubleshoot and repair all aspects of HVAC and other air quality systems. • Clean, adjust, fix and maintain equipment for customers; perform coil cleanings as necessary. • Check condensation lines to ensure they are free of debris and draining properly. • Locate and mitigate any dangerous features on a HVAC system that could be harmful to users’ health. • Independently install compressors, motors, and other system repair components. • Perform emergency and warranty services. • Describe options and costs to the customer, obtain approval, and make repairs. Ensure all repairs are accurate. • Properly dispose of failed parts and any chemicals. • Perform system installations or changeouts when not performing service calls. • Comply with all applicable codes, standards, policies, and safety procedures. • Complete all paperwork in a neat, accurate, thorough, and timely manner. • Have and maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record. • Keep company vehicle clean, inside and out. • Maintain a clean and professional appearance. • Work after hours, over weekends and on public holidays with short or no notice to provide emergency service. • Other duties as required.

Job Requirements

• Technical and working knowledge of HVAC and other air quality systems. • Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams and equipment related schematics and manuals. • Interpreting various technical data such as pressure and temperature; understanding of refrigeration cycles. • Problem solving and critical thinking skills to properly diagnose and repair systems for optimum performance. • Good communication and people skills – must be able to discuss with the customer what repairs need to be made and why. • Willingness and ability to work both independently and as part of a team. • Excellent math, people, and problem-solving skills. • Comfortable working in confined spaces such as crawl spaces or attics, and from various heights. • Able to handle physical workload. Ability to occasionally lift up to 70lbs unassisted. • Good work ethics. Show up on time, etc. Education Requirements: • High school diploma or GED required. • Certificate or associates degree from a HVAC program at a technical school and/or 3 years’ experience.
