Job Description:

We are accepting applications to fill 3 vacancies for a full-time Police Officer, both entry-level or lateral positions. Regardless of experience, candidates will receive a hiring bonus of $3,000, 24 hours of vacation plus 3 floating holidays immediately available upon hire. Lateral Officers will be placed in the vacation accrual commensurate with their years of service. For example, if a lateral officer has 10 years of service, they would be placed on the scale at the 10-14 years of service accrual rate. The current salary range is $58,905.60 - $75,441.60, 12-hour shifts and generous benefits package included. Police Officers patrol the City of Blair, enforce local state and federal laws, and provide community service and protection.

Job Requirements

Application Requirements: Must be at least 21 years of age; able to meet NLETC qualifications for certification; be a United States Citizen; able to read and write the English language; furnish a high school diploma or high school equivalency, desirable to be supplemented by a two-year college degree in law enforcement or a closely related field; possess a valid State Driver's License without a record of suspension or revocation in any state; no felony convictions or disqualifying criminal histories within the past seven years; be of good moral character; successfully complete the Civil Service Commission examination and screenings.
