FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Summary: Responsible for performing machine maintenance and repairs by performing the following duties. Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Oversees and assists in performing a variety of machine set ups and operations. 2. Documents machine set up data, maintains all related records and files, and updates as needed. 3. Performs machine maintenance and repairs as required using hand tools. 4. Oversees use of statistical methods of quality control. 5. Works to close tolerances and select speeds, feeds, and tools for varying conditions according to reference manuals or materials for machine set ups and repair. 6. Reads and interprets conditions defined in reference manuals and related materials to perform repairs. 7. Replaces tools as required. 8. Documents all safety concerns and training needed for each machine. 9. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Math Ability: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software, design software, manufacturing software, and machining software. Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and prior machinist experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Specialized Training: One to Two year technical training-machining school Equipment: • Forklift • Saws • Grinders • CNC machines • Drill press • Machine set up equipment and programs Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities: • Oral and written communication skills • Reading skills • Time management skills • Physical and manual dexterity • Math aptitude • Organizational skills • Mechanical aptitude Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and ability to see color.
