R Scott Crawford began his EMS career in 1988 as a member of the Ralston Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad. As a Nationally Registered EMS provider, he has worked 21 years as a firefighter/paramedic with the Omaha Fire Department in Omaha, Nebraska. 10 years of this service was in the EMS training division as primary instructor for the Omaha Fire Department paramedic program. Scott also worked as a flight paramedic with the Children’s Hospital Medical Center Transport Team and as a certified flight paramedic with Life Net of the Heartland, an air medical transport program operated by Air Methods Corporation.

Over the years, Scott has contributed to EMS education as adjunct faculty for Nebraska Methodist College, Southeast Community College, Northeast Community College, and Iowa Western Community College. In 2010 he received the Chuck Woll Instructor of the Year award from the Nebraska EMS Association and The Unsung Hero’s award from the National Association of EMS Educators for instructional excellence. Scott joined Northeast Community College as full-time faculty in the Paramedic Program in 1921.
