Hands-On Learning Opportunities and Courses
In the apprenticeship program students gain paid, on-the-job training experience working alongside experienced professionals. In addition to hands-on learning opportunities at a jobsite, students grow their knowledge in the classroom. Classroom instruction in the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) apprenticeship includes:
- NURA 1110 Nurse Aide
- HLTH 1120 Medication Aide
- HLTH 1060 Comprehensive Medical Terminology
Program Details

Upon completion apprentices are awarded a National Apprenticeship Credential, a Nurse Aide Certification, and a Medication Aide Certification.

Upon completion of the Nurse Aide course, the student is eligible to take the state written and practical skills exam. After successfully passing this examination and completing the application procedure, the students name will be placed on the basic nurse aide registry at the Nebraska Health and Human Services Regulation and Licensure, Credentialing Division.
Upon completion of the Medication Aide course, the student will be eligible to take the state administered written exam at an additional fee. After successfully passing this examination and completing the application procedure, the student's name will be placed on the medication aide registry at the Nebraska Health and Human Services Regulation and Licensure, Credentialing Division.
