How do I sign up for a tutor?

A tutor can be obtained by filling out a blue tutor request form. This form can be found at the front desk of the Advising and Academic Support Center located in the College Welcome Center. If there's a tutor available, the front desk will inform you of the hours. If there isn't a tutor available, the Academic Support Coordinator will contact you with more information. What are drop-in hours?

Drop-in hours are designated hours that tutors will be present in the Advising and Academic Support Center. This means you don't have to make an appointment to see a tutor—simply drop-in during the designated hours for support in a subject.

When are the drop-in hours?

Drop-in hours are posted throughout campus in academic buildings, the Student Center, and the College Welcome Center. Drop-in hours are also posted online via the Tutoring webpage. These hours change depending on the course offerings each semester.

What if there are no drop-in hours?

If there are no drop-in hours for a particular subject, a tutor may be available by appointment. Contact the Academic Support Coordinator at 402-844-7125 for more information about scheduling tutoring appointments.

What if there is no tutor for my class?

If there isn't a tutor available for your class, the Academic Support Coordinator will search for one. This process may take 1-3 weeks depending on the class. Contact the Academic Support Coordinator at 402-844-7125 for more information.

I have online classes and wish to receive online tutoring. How can I do this?

If you're enrolled in an online course, there are online tutors available. Fill out the online tutor request form, located on the Academic Support webpage, to receive online tutoring. For assistance, contact the Academic Support Coordinator at 402-844-7125.

I have online classes and wish to receive face-to-face tutoring. How can I do this?

If you're enrolled in an online course and wish to receive face-to-face tutoring, visit the Advising and Academic Support Center. There, you'll fill out a blue tutor request form and be directed to an available tutor. If there is no tutor currently available, the Academic Support Coordinator will assist in finding a tutor.

What is the Math Success Center?

The Math Success Center is a branch of Academic Support that's administered through the math faculty. Math faculty and tutors are available to support students in various math courses. The Math Success Center is located in the Science building room 106.

What is Writers’ Clinic?

Writers’ Clinic is a free, beneficial service that supports students on their writing needs. Writers’ Clinic offers advice on writing anxiety, structure and formatting, writing styles, and writing mechanics. To schedule an appointment with Writers’ Clinic, you can go online to the Writers' Clinic webpage or stop by the Advising and Academic Support Center.

What are the steps to become a tutor?

To become a tutor, visit the Advising and Academic Support Center in the College Welcome Center room 1284. You'll fill out a yellow form or complete an online application. Once the Academic Support Coordinator receives the completed application, an interview will be scheduled.
