The Pre-Professional Nurse program at Northeast Community College consists of general education coursework required to pursue a diploma and/or degree in a one- or two-year nursing program. Coursework may also be transferred to a four-year institution in pursuit of a four-year nursing degree.

Graduates earn an Associate of Science Degree or an Associate of Arts Degree from Northeast Community College and are prepared for admission to a nursing program (practical nursing program or associate degree in nursing).

Why Students Choose This Program

With affordable tuition, expert faculty, and a pathway to a nursing program, students can confidently begin their nursing journey.

Students in the program benefit from a supportive and student-centered learning environment. Small class sizes allow for personalized instruction and one-on-one mentorship from experienced faculty who are committed to student success. Instructors bring real-world experience into the classroom and work closely with students to ensure they build the confidence and competence needed for success.

Northeast Community College has developed articulation agreements with many four-year colleges and universities, ensuring smooth credit transfers for students pursuing a bachelor's degree. For students planning to transfer, it's important to work closely with academic advisors at both Northeast and the transfer institution, utilizing the Transfer Guide to make informed course selections that align with your transfer goals.
