  • Northeast employees shift into reverse to complete degrees

    by jamesc  5/26/2017 8:05:20 AM --  NORFOLK - Obtaining a college degree is a milestone in anyone’s life, and Northeast Community College offers a process for its former students, whether they hold an advanced degree or have never earned a degree, to earn an associate degree from Northeast. The College encourages students who attended the institution, but left before graduation to attend a four-year college or university, to consider completing an associate degree by transferring credits back to Northeast.

    NORFOLK, NE – The Cox Activities Center at Northeast Community College in Norfolk was filled to capacity on Saturday as family and friends watched as hundreds of graduates received their diplomas during the College’s 44th annual commencement ceremony.

  • Northeast's Phi Theta Kappa earns five-star status, regional awards

Over 145 members, advisors, and alumni attended the Kansas/Nebraska Region Convention.

  • Northeast earns top honors at powerline rodeo

    by jamesc  5/5/2017 3:47:23 PM --  SCOTTSBLUF, NE – Northeast Community College utility line (UL) students dominated an event designed to showcase the skills they have learned in the classroom and lab. Northeast took first place overall in the team competition at the 2017 College Powerline Rodeo, held recently on the Scottsbluff and Alliance campuses of Western Nebraska Community College.

  • Rasmussen, Retzlaff named to PTK All-State academic team

    LINCOLN, NE – Two Northeast Community College students were recognized in Lincoln recently for being named to the 2017 Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) All-Nebraska Academic Team. Krisayla Rasmussen, Norfolk, and Natalie Retzlaff, Pierce, joined 21 other all-state team members from Nebraska’s five other community colleges in a ceremony at the Embassy Suites hotel.

  • Northeast earns nine championships; other honors at Skills USA competition

Northeast crowned nine state champions and swept the competition in one category at the SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference held recently at the Heartland Events Center and Fonner Park here.

  • Longtime music director honored at Northeast's spring concert

Boullion, who is retiring this spring, has served in the music department at Northeast for 31 years.

  • Nebraska Forest Service recognizes Northeast's Arbor Day program

    LINCOLN, NE – The Nebraska Forest Service has recognized Northeast Community College for its hands-on work with young children that allows them to discover the importance of trees. Representatives of the College were presented with the agency’s Educator Award during its annual Nebraska Community Forestry and Tree City, Campus and Line USA Recognition Day. It was one of eleven awards presented during the event held earlier this month in Lincoln.

  • Northeast elevates signing day to focus on academics

But now the institution has used the same concept to focus on why students attend college in the first place, to obtain a degree and eventually get a job.

  • Northeast ag students place 4th at NACTA Conference

    by jamesc  4/10/2017 1:50:01 PM --  MANHATTAN, KS – Northeast Community College students finished in fourth place in sweepstakes for two-year colleges at the 2017 North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture (NACTA) Judging Conference held at Kansas State University here.
