Northeast Students Make the Parade a ‘Pop’toberfest

NORFOLK, Neb. – Downtown Norfolk’s Oktoberfest seemingly grows each year.

This year during the Norfolk Lions Club Parade, one of the new additions included live music from Northeast Community College students performing pop music on a float, under the direction of Margaret Schultz, music instructor and choral activities director.

Northeast athletes walked behind the float, handing out candy. The music students who performed were Alexis Lind, Tilden, Chris Efta, Pierce, trombone; Matthew Schultz, Randolph, tuba; Charlie Henkel, Norfolk, drums; Carter Meysenberg, Fullerton, Juan Garcia, Lyons, and Taylor Kleinschmit Bloomfield, trumpet.

The students played “Bad” by Michael Jackson and “Shake It Off” by Taylor Swift.
