Transition Taking Place for Job Postings at Northeast

NORFOLK, Neb. – Northeast Community College students and employers will have a new way to connect in the 2024-25 school year.

While Northeast’s job board still exists, the college has joined Handshake, an online job board. Many colleges across Nebraska already are using Handshake with success.

Details of it were shared on Tuesday, Aug. 6, during the Northeast Board of Governors meeting by Amanda Nipp, vice president of student services.

Students have been invited to set up an account in Handshake so they can connect with employers all over, with employers able to select regions or colleges for employees. It provides increased opportunities for both students and employers and includes internships as well.

Northeast alumni also are welcome to use Handshake for job possibilities.

Northeast’s Career Services will be sponsoring a part-time job fair on Tuesday, Aug. 27, from 3 to 5 p.m. At least 50 employers are expected.

For more information on Handshake or the job fair, email careerservcies@northeast.edu .
