Fun, Interactive English Course Offered This Summer

NORFOLK, Neb. – A four-week strictly online class, “Creating Stories,” will be offered this summer.

Bonnie Johnson-Bartee, English instructor & Visiting Writer Series coordinator, is the instructor for the course.

“The course is a lot of fun and very collaborative. It is a workshop environment, so they write stories and workshop (give feedback) on discussion boards with others in the class,” Johson-Bartee said. “I provide prompts for the stories they need to write, but I also give them the opportunity to write stories without prompts if they have an idea that they want to work on.”

The class does fulfil the AS and AA 3 credit hour English/Literature requirement. Although it can be taken just for fun if someone wants to build story-writing skills.

The class is ENGL 2050 Creating Stories I. It will meet July 8 through Aug. 2 online. Those wanting to register for the course should apply for admission at https://northeast.edu/admissions/application. When registering, the CRN is 30974. The cost is $384 for tuition and fees (Nebraska residents), and an MLA handbook is required, which can be purchased through the Hawk Shop.

Anyone with questions may email bonnie@northeast.edu.
