NORFOLK, Neb. -- The Northeast Community College Music Department presented its final performance of the 2023-24 school year on Sunday, April 28, in the Lifelong Learning Center on the college campus.
The Tour Concert is the culmination of the students’ work and outreach to several area schools.
The Northeast Singers’ Express performed a variety of pop songs from the 60s to the present. The men and the women each were featured as well.
They were followed by the Jazz Machine's portion of the program. These student musicians performed several assorted styles of jazz that include straight ahead swing, 2nd line, Samba and funk styles.
Margaret Schultz, music instructor and choral activities director, was the vocal director and accompanist for the show choir.
Kevin McLouth, director of instrumental studies, was the director of the Jazz Machine.
