University officials visit the Northeast farm, ag facilities

NORFOLK, Neb. – Northeast Community College welcomed visitors from Morningside University to campus on Friday, Dec. 8.

The day included a visit to the college’s farm and agricultural facilities, including the Vet Tech facility.


Taking part in the event from the Sioux City, Iowa, university were Chris Spicer, Morningside provost & vice president for Academic Affairs; Tom Paulsen, Morning professor and department head, Applied Agriculture and Food Studies; Terri Curry, vice president for Student Life & Enrollment; and Albert Mosley, president of Morningside.


Taking part from Northeast were Tara Smydra, Northeast dean of Science, Technology, Ag and Math; Jason Hansen, associate director of Northeast’s farm; Jill Heemstra, director of the Ag program; Charlene Widener, vice president, Educational Services; Kassie Wessendorf, veterinary technician instructor; and Leah Barrett, president.



The visit concluded with lunch at Hawks Point.

Cutline Morningside Visit
