Northeast earns several awards for marketing excellence

ALBURQUEQUE, N.M. – The marketing department at Northeast Community College has been recognized among two-year college communicators from across North America. The National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) District #5 has bestowed the Northeast marketing team with nine Medallion awards for its work during the 2022-23 academic year.

Northeast earned awards for its social media work including gold for the College’s Instagram page, silver for the college’s Facebook page, and gold and silver honors for social media posts. A social media campaign for Northeast’s apprenticeship program won gold for digital advertisement and a bronze Medallion was presented in the “quick turn-around” social media video category. Furthermore, Northeast earned silver Medallion awards for the institution’s new college seal, for the design of the College’s Tour Room, and a campaign celebrating Northeast’s 50th anniversary.

The forty-two categories that make up the NCMPR Medallion Awards recognize outstanding achievement in design and communication at community and technical colleges in each of the organization’s seven districts. The regional competition is exclusive to marketing and public relations (PR) professionals at
two-year colleges.

NCMPR’s District #5 includes colleges in Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, the Canadian province of Manitoba, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.

Northeast’s award-winning pieces will now be considered for NCMPR's prestigious Paragon Awards which recognize outstanding achievement in design and communication at community and technical colleges on the national level. It is the only national competition of its kind that honors excellence exclusively among marketing and PR professionals at two-year colleges.

The Northeast Community College Marketing Department supports and advances the mission of the institution by developing and promoting the College’s brand. The team is made up of Jennifer Greve, executive director, Jill Bertsch, director, Brian Headlee, creative manager, Tara Schilling, digital marketing manager, and Elissa Dames, marketing coordinator.
