Northeast hosts state journalism contest

NORFOLK, Neb. - Zainib Al-Jayashi of Lincoln Southeast High School (center) stands atop the podium after earning the gold medal in the newspaper layout category during the Nebraska State High School Journalism Championships.

Five-hundred students competed in over a dozen categories from advertising to yearbook in Classes A, B, and C earlier this week at Northeast Community College in Norfolk. Papillion-La Vista won the Class A team title, Scotus Central Catholic of Columbus earned Class B and Yutan took the Class C title.
