Farm show seminar focuses on drones in agriculture

NORFOLK, Neb. - Brian Anderson, media arts-broadcasting instructor, and Courtney Nelson, precision agriculture trainer, at Northeast Community College, led a workshop on the use of drones in agriculture at the Northeast Nebraska Farm and Equipment Show held at the College’s Chuck M. Pohlman Agriculture Complex recently.

A drone is an unmanned aviation system (UAS) and can range in size from less than a half-pound object that can sit in the palm of one’s hand to super-sized drones that may be fixed-wing and as large as a bus. Anderson and Nelson are certified drone pilots and incorporate the technology in their classes.
