Northeast celebrates and reflects on the legacy Martin Luther King, Jr.

NORFOLK, Neb. - Paul Muncy, history/geography instructor at Northeast Community College (in hooded coat), speaks of the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. with students during a candlelight walk on the Norfolk campus Monday as part of the College’s Celebration & Reflection of the late civil rights leader.

Students were joined by Northeast employees as they walked to Union 73 to watch King’s 1963 “I Have a Dream” speech in front of the Lincoln Memorial. Muncy was joined by Dr. Michael Taylor, history/political science instructor, to discuss King, his work and the history of the civil rights movement. At the conclusion of the evening, everyone was encouraged to write down their dreams on a board inside Union 73.
