NORFOLK, Neb. - Day of the Dead, known in Mexico as Día de Muertos, is a day that honors and celebrates the lives and memories of departed friends, ancestors, and loved ones. Celebrated from Oct. 31 – to Nov. 2, Día de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a Mexican holiday where families welcome back the souls of their relatives who have passed away.
As part of the celebration, the Northeast Library, Center for Global Engagement and College Engagement have set up an Altar Ofrenda for Dia de los Muertos in Union 73, where copies of pictures, poems and other items have been placed as an offering. The altar will be on display until Fri., Nov. 11.
