NORFOLK, Neb. – Northeast Community College instrumental music and vocal groups will open their 2022-23 season with a fall concert.
The concert will be held Sun., Oct. 23, at 2 p.m., in the Lifelong Learning Center on the Norfolk campus. It will feature selections by the Northeast College/Community Concert Band and Concert Choir.
With Kevin McLouth, instrumental music instructor/director of instrumental activities, as director, the Northeast College/Community Concert Band will perform "Fanfare & Flourishes," by James Curnow, "Chorale," by Vaclav Nelhybel, "J.S. Jig," by Brant Karrick, and "National Emblem," by E.E. Bagely.

Vocal selections by the Concert choir, directed by Margaret Schultz, director of choral activities, will include “A Choral Flourish," by Linda Spevacek, "Goblin Feet," words by Tolkien and music by Larry Shackley, "Autumn Moon," by Jay Althouse," "The Lake," words by Poe and music by Jay Althouse," and "A Festive Call to Freedom," (traditional Shaker Hymn) with music by Joseph Martin. The men of the choir will perform “Goodnight, Sweetheart, Goodnight,” with soloists Drake Boyle, Norfolk, and Jeremiah Polak, Coleridge.
