Northeast student athletes earn NJCAA All-Academic Team honors

CHARLOTTE, NC. – Fifty-five Northeast Community College student-athletes have been named to National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Academic teams for their efforts in the classroom this past season.
Student-athletes are eligible to earn academic honors by achieving an overall GPA (grade point average) of 3.60 or higher for the 2021-22 academic year. To be named to the All-Academic First Team, the student-athlete must have earned a 4.0 GPA. To be named to the All-Academic Second Team, the student-athlete must have earned a 3.80-3.99 GPA while the requirement to be named to the All-Academic Third Team is a GPA of 3.60-3.79.

In addition, all eight athletic programs at Northeast were named a 2021-22 NJCAA Academic Team of the Year as the baseball, men's basketball, men's golf, men's soccer, women's basketball, women's soccer, softball and volleyball programs all received the recognition. 

Baseball

First Team: Maxim Fullerton, Steamboat Springs, Colo.; Chris Mazzini, Parker, Colo.; Cooper Whitt, Knoxville, Tenn.; and Rusty Wortman, Gretna.

Second Team: Nate Brecht, Sioux Falls, So. Dak.; Christian Carew, Parker, Colo.; Zach Chiolis, Rapid City, So. Dak.; Maximo De Leon, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; Matt Dreher, Blair; Harrison Taubert, Casper, Wyo.; Kaden Young, Columbus, Neb.; and Zane Zielinski, Chicago, Ill.

Third Team: Eli Crnkovich, Valley; Garrett Dudley, Johnstown, Colo.; Houston Fogelstrom, Omaha; and Gage Ingram, LaVista.

Men's Basketball

First Team: Emaniel Alexandre, Nassau, Bahamas and Evan Decker, Omaha.

Men's Golf

First Team: Rockney Peck, Wisner and Kody Sander, Lincoln.

Second Team: Ted Benston, Hartington.

Men's Soccer

First Team: Jyson Breitbarth, Hilo, HI; Carlos Jimenez, Littleton, Colo.; Anderson Roberts, Arima, Trinidad and Tobago; Caio Carrara, Sao Paulo, Brazil; and Hugo Santos, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Second Team: Paul Einero, Cape Town, South Africa.

Third Team: Chad Le Roux, Alberton, South Africa.

Women's Basketball

First Team: Alexis Bliven, Holdrege; Molly Davis, Yutan; Autumn Dickmander, Brule; and Lorna Maxon, Laurel.

Second Team: Ashley Hassett, Hershey.

Third Team: Jaydy Gonzalez, Denver, Colo.

Women's Soccer
