Music department to hold Winter Concert Feb. 20

NORFOLK, NE - The music department at Northeast Community College will host its annual winter concert in February. The concert will be held on Sun., Feb. 20, at 2 p.m., in the Lifelong Learning Center on the Norfolk campus. The event is free and open to the public.

The College/Community Concert Band, Percussion Ensemble and Concert Choir will take the stage.

Selections to be performed by the Community/College Concert Band include “Havendance,” by David Holsinger; “Jubilance,” by James Swearingen; “Moravian Dance,” by Travis Weller; and “Klaxon,” by Henry Fillmore.  

The Percussion Ensemble will perform “Let the Big Dawg Eat,” by Chris Brooks.

Selections to be performed by the Concert Choir include “Welcome, Welcome Winter,” and “And the Night Shall Be Filled with Music,” arrangements by Greg Gilpin; “Seasons of Love,” arrangement by Roger Emerson; and “Cold and Fugue Season,” arrangement by Ellen Foncannon.

The College/Community Concert Band is led by Kevin McLouth, instrumental music instructor/director of instrumental activities at Northeast.
