Dvorak, Gibson named new associate vice presidents

NORFOLK, Neb. – Northeast Community College has named two associate vice presidents prior to the start of the new academic year.

Jessica Dvorak has been selected as associate vice president of human resources with Danielle Gibson chosen as associate vice president of institutional research and analytics, a new position at the College.

Dvorak has a combined 11 years of experience in human resources management and administration; four years in private industry and seven years in the non-profit sector. Most recently, she has served as director of human resources, talent & human resource compliance at Northeast.

In her role of associate vice president, Dvorak leads and directs the operation of the College’s human resources such as recruitment, hiring, onboarding, payroll, benefits, coordination of professional development initiatives, development and implementation of Northeast’s policies and procedures, employee relations, and marketing strategies, among others.

“I am tremendously honored to step into the role of associate vice president of human resources at Northeast Community College,” Dvorak said. “I love living in northeast Nebraska where my family roots are. I have enjoyed my tenure at the College working with our amazing students and employees. Having an opportunity to elevate my involvement in the College’s strategic direction is going to be very rewarding. I am looking forward to the challenge.”

Gibson brings nearly 20 years of experience in reporting and analytics to her position, with 15 years working for colleges and education nonprofits in the fields of institutional research, effectiveness, and analytics. She was previously employed as director of institutional research for Grantham University (Kan.).

In her new role, she leads, directs, and oversees all aspects of Northeast Community College’s institutional research and analytics services. The department serves as an integral component of the College's efforts to democratize data; making it more readily available to inform institutional priorities. This includes providing official data and reports, student achievement milestones, key performance indicators comprised of critical metrics, integrated strategic planning as well as compliance and accreditation assistance.

Gibson said, “I am truly honored to join the team at Northeast Community College, and look forward to serving the students, faculty, staff, and community by doing what I love – bringing relevant data and

analytics to the forefront of decision-making.”

Leah Barrett, president of Northeast, is pleased to have Dvorak and Gibson serve in the associate vice president positions. She said the wealth of experience both women have in their responsibilities speaks directly to the College’s strategic priorities and values of a motivating and rewarding place to work and effective resource management as it relates to data.

“Jessica is a leader who brings knowledge and compassion to her work,” Barrett said. “She will be instrumental in providing strategic direction to human resources activities across all campuses. Danielle’s background in analytics will allow Northeast to move forward utilizing the important information that is analyzed through the department in order to make data-informed decisions. Interpretation of such data is so vital in planning and evaluation and supports every aspect of the institution.”
