NORFOLK, Neb. – An author from Omaha will be featured during the final Visiting Writers Series event of the fall semester at Northeast Community College.
David Mullins will read from his work during a virtual presentation on Wed., Nov. 11, at 4 p.m. His presentation may be viewed through Zoom at northeast.zoom.us/j/5864654319.
Mullins, an associate professor of creative writing in the English Department at Creighton University, is the author of The Brightest Place in the World, a novel, and Greetings from Below, a collection of stories.
He is a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, and his work has appeared in The Yale Review, The Massachusetts Review, New England Review, Cimarron Review, and elsewhere. Mullins has received fellowships and awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, Yaddo, the Sewanee Writers’ Conference, the Nebraska Arts Council, and the Nevada Writers Hall of Fame.
Mullins’ appearance is sponsored by the Northeast Community College English Department through its Visiting Writers Series in collaboration with Wayne State College Plains Writers Series. All events are free and open to the public.
