Degrees and Programs
The Surgical Technology program is offered in cooperation with Southeast Community College in Lincoln.
Courses and Program Options
The program provides a planned course of classroom study and clinical practice in operating room techniques and principles of asepsis. General education and academic support courses are provided by Northeast Community College. Surgical technology courses are taught online through Southeast Community College. Clinical experience is provided in cooperation with Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, Nebraska, and the area hospitals.
As a graduate of the program, you will earn an associate of applied science degree from Southeast Community College and will be eligible to take the National Certification Examination for certified surgical technologist status.
Career Information
Employment is expected to grow much faster than average. Hospitals will continue to be the primary employer, although much faster employment growth is expected in other health care industries.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the average salary for surgical technologists in Nebraska is $37,700.
