Summary: Performs floor maintenance duties to areas of the facility as assigned by supervisor. Responsible for meeting and maintaining safety and sanitation standards throughout the facility. Demonstrates positive customer relations having a good knowledge of where all departments and services are located. Will have high level of exposure to internal and external customers. Works with patients, families, departmental co-workers, members of the multidisciplinary health care team, physicians, physician’s office personnel, and the general public. Reports to Environmental Services Manager, and Director of Facilities Management. The listing of job duties contained in this job description is not all inclusive. Responsibilities: Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Completes essential job function for maintenance of hard floors through stripping, sealing and waxing. Dust mop floors to remove loose surface soil Removes movable furnishing from area Places wet floor signs in close proximity to floors being stripped Applies stripping solution to floor Utilizes to wet/dry vacuum to remove stripping solution from the floor Rinses floor Applies sealer after floor has completely air dried Identifies equipment needed to apply finish to floors Applies finish after floor has completely dried Returns area to original condition after floor is completely dry 2. Completes essential job functions for maintenance of carpeted floors through pre-treatment and wet extraction. Identifies the need for wet extraction Identifies equipment needed to perform wet extraction Removes moveable furnishings Places walk-off mats and wet floor signs where the carpet ends and flooring begins Vacuums carpet Prepares carpet for wet extraction Utilizes carpet extractor Utilizes blower fan to speed drying time Returns area to original condition Recognizes the need for heavily soiled areas to be cleaned additional times Monitors floor equipment and notifies immediate supervisor requesting repairs Cleans and maintains equipment at the end of each work shift Hours will be dependent on patient census and workload. Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, to include after-hours and weekends as necessary. Job Requirements: The requirements listed below must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required. EDUCATION: GED or High School Diploma preferred. EXPERIENCE: Previous healthcare experience preferred. 2 years of previous experience in field preferred. Combination of 2 years of education and experience in position field required. SKILLS: Language Skills – Ability to read, write, speak, and understand ?the English language required.
