Summary: To seek, understand, and respond to our customers' needs in a timely, helpful, and courteous manner. To provide informative responses in a courteous and professional manner to patients, visitors and staff of Faith Regional Health Services. This job requires the ability to organize and prioritize needs and requests from patients, co-workers, and general public with regard to their physical, psychosocial and cultural needs. Escorts guests to assigned/requested destination. Completes assignments requested by Supervisor and/or Director. Reports to Service Excellence Director. Responsibilities: Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: 1. To provide in house transportation to patients receiving tests. 2. To escort all new admits to their room (ICU, STP, MED/SURG, PED, OB, NUR, CDU) 3. To escort all interdepartmental transports with equipment (IV, Catheter, Chest tube, O2) 4. To transport all discharged patients to their vehicles. 5. To provide front lobby coverage to ensure that all guests are greeted promptly and shown to the proper area. 6. To assist in answering any volunteer questions. 7. Performs duties and responsibilities according to the supervisor’s direction following department policies and procedures. 8. Carries out the duties and responsibilities of position without specific supervision with the ability to handle multiple projects/tasks concurrently with organizational detail. 9. Interacts with customers in a professional, empathetic manner. 10. Maintains patient confidentiality and dignity at all times. 11. Infection Control: Utilizes appropriate protective apparel and devices when working with patients. Knows the protocol following a blood/body fluid exposure incident. 12. Demonstrates the ability to accurately locate resources 13. Can operate Microsoft Outlook and its sub-folders including Public Folders, Department and FRHS calendar. 14. Demonstrates the ability to operate systems and equipment utilized in the work area, copy machine, pager, telephone, fax machine, label and armband. 15. Responds appropriately to emergency conditions. Hours will be dependent on patient census and workload. Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, to include after-hours and weekends as necessary. Job Requirements: The requirements listed below must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required. EDUCATION: GED or High School Diploma preferred. EXPERIENCE: Previous healthcare experience preferred. SKILLS: Language Skills – Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language required.
