DCL Truck Driver - Norfolk

Job Description:

Reports to: Crew Scheduler Hours per week: 40 minimum Non-Exempt, Hourly A. General Summary of the Position: Truck driver for a construction company based in Norfolk Nebraska. Will be driving to deliver machinery, equipment, materials etc. to job sites and local industrial/commercial sites. Occasional overnight trips. B. Essential Functions: 1. Repositioning equipment to jobsites. 2. Delivery and pickup of product from vendors and customers 3. Keep equipment clean and maintained 4. Assist construction and crane crew with logistics of vehicles and equipment 5. May be required to help in other areas when no driving is needed 6. Perform other duties as assigned. 7. Assist the mechanic in maintaining records of vehicles. C. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 1. Excellent working knowledge of CDL required OTR vehicles 2. Understanding of loading a flatbed trailer and securing the load 3. Understanding of motor vehicle regulations 4. Be able to climb up and down from trailers during strapping and loading 5. Able to be self-directed 6. Good driving ability 7. Great communication skills D. Education, Training and Experience: 1. CDL A 2. Medical Card 3. Clean Driving Record 4. 4-5 years’ experience with tractor trailer E. Work Context: 1. Regularly spend time in a commercial vehicle sitting standing. 2. Regularly helps load and secure vehicles and trailers. 3. May be required to operate a forklift or telehandler to load vehicles and trailers.
