Job Description:

The City of Holdrege is currently accepting applications for an Electric Utility Lineman. Lineman positions include a 40-hour work week with the possibility of overtime on nights and weekends. The Apprentice Lineman position includes a beginning salary of $25.16 to $33.07 per hour commensurate with education and experience - plus standby and callout pay. The Journeyman Lineman position includes a salary range of $31.00 to $39.28 per hour commensurate with education and experience - plus standby and callout pay. Benefits include FR work clothing, vacation, sick leave, holidays, health insurance, life insurance, and an employer-matched retirement plan. Job Requirements

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States, hold a current CDL or obtain one within 60 days of hire and pass a pre-employment drug screen. Qualifications include but are not limited to, graduation from an accredited utility line degree program, experience in the operation of heavy equipment, and the ability to work in various adverse weather conditions. Experience in the construction, testing and maintenance of municipal electrical systems and their components is desirable. The successful candidate will have a principled character and an above-average aptitude for maintaining productive working relationships with department heads and co-workers.
