Precision Farming Technician/Crop Scout - Beemer

Job Description:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting with development of fertility and planting prescriptions. Soil sampling and analysis. Gathering, compiling, and analyzing crop production data. Field scouting for weeds, insects, disease, nutritional issues, and measuring plant populations. Assisting and communicating with co-workers and input suppliers on scheduling of chemical applications and field operations. Assisting with programs and correspondence with the NRCS-USDA and other government agencies. Assisting with financial budgets and crop inputs and field operations to accurately project costs and break-evens on production. Data entry and development of invoices and billing for inter-company and custom farming operations. Remaining up to date on crop nutrition and production technologies. This position will include some field operations and equipment transport and assisting with regular farming logistics on a pivot irrigated and dryland corn, soybean, and alfalfa operation.

Job Requirements

A valid drivers license with ability to pass vehicle insurance verification. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. Knowledgeable about row crop and alfalfa production. Knowledgeable about prescription writing. Technology focused and able to understand and use farm management software.
