Office / Marketing Intern - Columbus, NE

Job Description:

Position Purpose The Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce is a dynamic organization committed to fostering the growth and development of our local business community. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Office/Marketing Assistant Intern to join our team. This internship opportunity is ideal for high school or college students aged 16 or older who are eager to gain valuable work experience in both office administration and marketing, as well as assist with organizing and planning community events. The ideal candidate will also be able to work 6-10 hours per week with the potential to take on additional hours. Examples of Specific Duties and Responsibilities · Assist with day-to-day office tasks, including answering phones, greeting visitors, and maintaining a welcoming office environment. · Utilize Microsoft Outlook and Google Calendar for scheduling appointments and managing emails. · Proficiently use Microsoft Word and Excel for various administrative tasks. · Support marketing efforts by assisting in the creation of marketing materials, newsletters, and promotional content. · Gain exposure to graphic design tools such as Adobe InDesign and Canva · Assist in scheduling and managing social media content across various platforms. · Collaborate with the marketing team on special projects and events. · Provide support to Chamber staff in various tasks as needed. · Assist with organizing and planning community events such as Columbus Days and Red, White, Kaboom!

Job Requirements

Education, Experience, Skills and/or Qualifications · Age 16 or older (high school or college student). · Strong communication and interpersonal skills. · Outgoing, social, and customer-focused attitude. · Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Google Calendar, Word, and Excel. · Familiarity with Adobe InDesign and Canva is a plus. · Basic knowledge of social media platforms. · Highly organized with excellent attention to detail. · Ability to work independently and as part of a team. · Eagerness to learn and contribute to the Chamber's mission. · Interest in community event planning and organization.
