Night Shift Operations Supervisor Summary: Norfolk Crush is a facility that processes 110k bushels of soybeans daily into soybean oil, soybean meal, and soy hull pellets. Supervisors work 12hr shifts and are responsible for 6-10 direct reports and the daily operation of the plant. Operators will operate the plant both physically in the field and by computer control. Supervisors are responsible for the performance of the operators and running the plant. This includes monitoring of the flow of materials through the process and ensuring the highest quality standards and put through. Duties & Responsibilities: With strategic focus, leads and directs all aspects of the day-to-day operations in the plant including daily production, maintenance, quality control, planning and logistics and project execution. Provide operational efficiencies of the plant including parts inventory and bean inventory and product quality. Oversee all plant activity and performance including, but not limited to, scheduling work shifts, reviewing and approving timesheets and time off requests, and addressing any performance and/or employee relations concerns. Lead, coach, and mentor all Operators to achieve goals and ensure the safe and efficient operation, production, and continuous improvement of the plant. First point of contact on shift to resolve any operational, logistical, or technical issues, including any mechanical breakdowns. Maintains and adheres to quality standards in the plant that satisfy the requirements of ISO standards along with working closely with the Quality Assurance Manager and Quality Assurance Technician. Maintain designated sanitary schedule to plant standards. Advise the Plant Manager of any staffing requirements, operational issues or shortcomings that could affect the operations. Work closely with the Human Resources Director to recruit, onboard and train new team members and provide performance management standards and execute any Learning and Development Management Programs. Provide leadership that promotes customer service, teamwork, personal accountability, cooperation, and career development. Work closely with the Safety Director to monitor and validate the Workplace Safety Program Direct plant operational policies and procedures and leads plant safety initiatives and instills safety-based behaviors in constant pursuit of zero lost-time and incidents. Is the primary contact with local authorities and ensures adherence to all legal and regulatory aspects of running the operation: OSHA, EPA, Department of Ag, etc. We Offer: Competitive salary and benefits program Health Insurance – HRA/HSA programs. Job Requirements

Qualifications: Associate or bachelor’s Degree in a business management related discipline or equivalent work experience as a manager in a soybean processing setting is desired. 2+ years’ manufacturing experience in feed/food/chemical processing plant knowledge preferred. Proven leadership skills with the ability to train, coach, motivate and manage performance of team members. Must have effective oral and written communication across different levels and departments. Desire and ability to contribute to a team environment across departments and shifts. Strong knowledge of quality specifications using identification and data gathering skills Strong mechanical aptitude Must have good computer skills. Business Acumen: Technical Knowledge and Skills – Experience with bioprocessing or related industrial production (crushing, refinery, roasting production, etc.); experience with large scale production equipment, automation, troubleshooting, repairs, and oversite of key vendors; combined technical and process (chemistry, bioprocess) understanding important to have success in this position. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements: Ability to frequently bend, squat, climb, sit, stand, walk, handle objects, reach above shoulder level, use fine finger movements and push/pull. Ability to occasionally kneel. Ability to frequently carry/lift light to heavy loads of up to 50 lbs. Ability to work 12hr work nights 7pm to 7am. Schedule is on Tues/Wed, off Thurs/Fri, on every other Sat/Sun/Mon. The second night crew schedule is off Tues/Wed, on Thurs/Fri, and on every other Sat/Sun/Mon.
