Job Description:

The veterinary technician is the veterinarian’s primary medical support. They begin the examination procedure and continue to assist the doctor throughout the examination, diagnosis and treatment phases, including surgery. They aid the veterinarians in achieving greater efficiency by relieving them of technical work and administrative detail. The veterinary technician may be asked to do a blood drawn (run labwork), read fecal samples and run urinalysis. They will have a very significant role in communicating with and educating clients about their pets, including answering phone calls. The successful applicant should be a team player, self-motivating, and able to complete tasks without supervision. Our base package includes an hourly wage, paid time off, retirement benefits, and a CE stipend.

Job Requirements

Minimum of 18 years old. Applicant needs to enjoy working with animals and is able to deal with them even when they are stressed, ill or in pain. The applicant needs to be well-spoken and approaches his/her job duties in a mature nature for they will need to communicate with the owners. Is experienced in the teamwork approach and works well with all levels of hospital team members and will work on all levels in the clinic, including answering phone calls. Has excellent client communication skills. We are willing to provide training to the right person.
