Job Description:

Adams Land and Cattle is seeking a skilled and versatile individual to assist in all aspects of maintenance, including projects and repairs on the feedlot and in the machine shop. This person will be responsible for: Supporting both Lot Maintenance and the Machine Shop through servicing, troubleshooting, repair, installation and fabrication activities. Day to day preventive, corrective, deferred and/or emergency maintenance of the feedlot facilities and equipment, including, but not limited to the feed mill, sprinkler systems, processing barn, water wells, etc. Maintaining and repairing feedlot fences and steel structures that sustain optimum cattle welfare and containment. Maintaining and repairing water tanks and main lines. Maintaining and evaluating equipment to improve performance. Providing mechanical expertise when necessary to reduce equipment downtime. Identifying technical problems and provide practical solutions, as appropriate. Troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems including motors, variable frequency drives, instrumentation, sensors, and various control systems. Troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining pneumatic and hydraulic systems including pumps, valves, cylinders, plumbing, etc. Operating various welding and torch equipment. Ensuring quality and efficient fabrication for new construction. Maintaining appropriate logs and records, as needed. Communicating successfully with other members of the team and operations. Actively seeking ways to improve efficiency and cost savings. Responding to emergency or high priority work which may, on occasion, be outside of normal working hours. Ideal candidate would possess the following skills and qualifications: Mechanical interest and aptitude. Plumbing, hydraulic, pneumatic, and water systems experience. Proficient in using various devices to test equipment’s performance. Welding experience, knowledge, and skills. Commitment to safety and quality culture. Excellent verbal communication. Self-starter and ability to work independently. Ability to use analytical techniques for problem solving, coordination, and decision making. Driven, organized, action-oriented, analytical, and ability to multi-task. Individual must be team oriented.

Job Requirements

This position requires: Exerting 50-100 pounds of force occasionally; 25-50 pounds of force frequently; 10-20 pounds of force constantly. Standing, sitting, walking, carrying, and lifting/lowering frequently; pushing/pulling, bending, twisting, climbing, reaching/handling/grasping, and kneeling/crouching occasionally; crawling and stairs rarely. Valid Drivers License Compensation Details: Starting wage: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour. $5,000 Hiring Bonus Comprehensive Benefits which begin on Day 1 of employment including: medical, dental, vision, paid time off, company match 401(k), bonus plan, and more!
