HVAC Sheet Metal Fabricator - Columbus, NE & surrounding area w/in 40 miles

Job Description:

• Accurately design, fabricate, assemble, and install various ducts and duct fittings as required: o Select gauges and types of sheet metal or non-metallic material according to specifications. o Develop and lay out patterns that use materials most efficiently. o Accurately measure, mark dimensions and lines on sheet metal. o Set up and operate machines (sheet metal sheers, brake presses, etc.) to cut, shape and form sheet metal. o Drill and punch holes in metal for electrical components, screws, bolts, etc. o Fasten seams and joints together using various methods as required. o Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff and smooth surfaces, seams and joints, and finish assembled parts. o Insulate ductwork using glue and pinspotter if required. • Fabricate duct and fittings to maximize the efficiency of systems. • Maintain equipment, machines, and tools. • Material handling. • Perform system installations or changeouts when not performing fabrication. • Comply with all applicable codes, standards, policies, and safety procedures. • Complete all paperwork in a neat, accurate, thorough, and timely manner. • Have and maintain a clean driving record. • Keep company vehicle clean, inside and out. • Maintain a clean and professional appearance. • Other duties as required.

Job Requirements

• Familiarity with reading HVAC equipment and structure blueprints and codes. • Reading and interpreting design plans, schematics, rough sketches, and wiring diagrams; basic understanding of electrical wiring and connections. • Knowledge and ability to set up and operate all fabrication machinery, equipment, and tools in a safe manner. • Commitment to quality workmanship. • Excellent math, organizational and problem-solving skills. • Good communication and people skills – must be able to discuss the installation plan and steps involved. • Willingness and ability to work both independently and as part of a team. • Comfortable working in confined spaces such as crawl spaces or attics, and from various heights. • Ability to handle physical workload. Ability to occasionally lift up to 70lbs unassisted. • Good work ethics. Show up on time, etc. Education Requirements • High school diploma or GED required • Previous experience as an HVAC Installer • 1-3 years’ experience in ductwork fabrication
