Ninth graders explore careers at Northeast event

Kendry Arrazcaeta, of Madison High School, assembles a computer as part of 9th Grade Career Day held recently on the Northeast Community College campus in Norfolk. The hands-on session was one of 28 centered around career options and degree programs offered by Northeast.

The ninth graders had the opportunity to explore sessions in engineering, information technology, drafting, biology, automotive technology, nursing, building construction, graphic design, agriculture, global studies, wind energy and many others. “Students from area high schools attend multiple sessions throughout the day and also enjoy lunch in our Hawks Point dining facility,” said Brad Ranslem, director of admissions at Northeast. “Area schools look forward to having their students attend this event and look forward to coming each year.” (Courtesy Northeast Community College)
