Auto Body Repair Technology
Degrees and Programs
As a student in the auto body repair technology program, you’ll learn the basic elements of metal finishing, frame alignment, panel replacement, major body damage, and unibody technologies for today's vehicles, using the very latest equipment and training materials. You’ll develop skills in welding, metalworking, refinishing, straightening and panel alignment, glass, hardware, trim installation, estimating, and shop management skills.
Upon graduation, you’ll be prepared for jobs in independent body shops or new and used car dealerships. With additional education, you’ll also find career opportunities in insurance adjusting and teaching.
Classes are held Monday through Thursday, allowing for a three-day weekend. Wayne State College will accept up to 66 credit hours from Northeast to apply to a bachelor of science degree in technology.
Enrollment in this program is limited and based on the date of completed requirements for acceptance into this program.

Career Information
Auto Body technology is rapidly becoming more sophisticated, and most employers prefer applicants who have completed a formal training program in automotive body repair. Employment of automotive body repairers is expected to grow 12 percent over the next decade.
Salary Information
According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the average salary for auto body repair technicians in Nebraska is $35,840.
