Hands-On Learning Opportunities and Courses

In addition to hands-on learning opportunities at a jobsite, students build their knowledge in the classroom. Classroom instruction in the Drafting/CAD Technician apprenticeship includes:

  • ARCH 2260 Introduction to Inventor

  • INFO 1000 Basic Computer Applications

Program Details

Apprenticeship is an industry-driven, high quality career pathway where businesses can develop and prepare their future workforce and individuals can obtain paid work experience along with classroom instruction.

480 hours of classroom instruction and approximately 2.5 years of on-the-job learning.

Courses are available in-person on the Norfolk campus. On-the-job training is offered at an employer site.

Courses follow a traditional college semester schedule, and most classes are offered in-person at the Norfolk campus with some online options.
