Degrees and Programs
Learn how to perform modern welding processes on the latest equipment. Through classroom and shop application, you’ll learn gas and arc welding, inert-gas arc welding, and continuous wire production welding and a background in metallurgy, blueprint interpretation, and mathematics.
As a successful graduate, you’ll be prepared for an entry-level production welding or job shop employment. You'll also have the opportunity to test for and receive AWS certification.
Classes are held Monday through Thursday, allowing for a three-day weekend.
Career Information
Our Welding graduates find that there is a very high demand for well-trained welders. Experts predict a large shortage of welders in the next few years almost everywhere. The American Welding Society (AWS) predicts that by 2020, the demand for skilled welders in the U.S. alone may outpace supply by 290,000 individuals.
Salary Information
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average salary for a welder in Nebraska is $35,000.
