Frequently Asked Questions

When does Northeast start communicating to my student email address?

After you have enrolled for your first class at Northeast, you will receive an email to your current personal email address to let you know that future communications will be going to your student email. After you have enrolled, all future communications will be directed to your student email. If you have applied to a limited enrollment program and are on a waitlist, you will not receive your student email until you have registered for your first class.

How do I access my student email?

You can access your student email by clicking on the Outlook icon in My Northeast.

When will I lose access to my student email account?

If you have not registered for classes for two semesters, we will begin communicating with you via your personal email address you have on record (see instructions for updating your contact information in My Northeast below). You will lose access to your Northeast student email account after you have not been registered for three semesters.

How can I add email to my Mobile Phone?

You can view your student email on your mobile phone with the Microsoft Outlook App. You can view multiple email addresses in your Microsoft Outlook App including your student email and other emails such as gmail.

How is student email used differently for Early College students?

Early College students will be issued a northeast.edu email address upon enrollment and it can be accessed and used as described above. However, we will not be sending official college communications to your college email unless you designate it as your preferred email by contacting the admissions and registration department at (402) 844-7260 or admreg@northeast.edu.


Not Enrolled at Northeast Next Semester? Here Are Some Important Reminders

If you are graduating or simply taking the next semester off, consider these items before leaving campus:

Back Up Your Files

Make copies of all the important files you have stored using one of our services. These may include your class documents such as term papers posted on your OneDrive, Northeast student emails, and Canvas.

Download Important Emails

Upon account deactivation, your emails will be deleted. Follow the steps below to hold onto these important emails by using a mail client such as Microsoft Outlook.

Update Your Contact Information

Update your contact information in My Northeast, including your mailing address and email address. These are the addresses that the college will use to send you all future communications, including your diploma. If you are having any questions on updating your current information please contact the admissions and registration office at (402) 844-7260 or email admreg@northeast.edu.

Campus Alert: You will not be able to delete alerts to your Northeast email address. If you are no longer associated with Northeast and you receive an alert, please disregard and block the email address. You will be able to opt out of text messages from a link in the messages that you receive should you no longer wish to get emergency messages from Northeast.
