The Northeast Food and Hygiene Pantry helps address students’ food and hygience product insecurities. By providing free food and personal items, we reduce the stigma around food insecurity in a warm and welcoming space.
The pantry is available to all currently enrolled students at Northeast Community College and students attending the UNMC Norfolk campus. The pantry offers a variety of shelf stable foods and personal items.
Northeast has partnered with Access Period, a nonprofit organization in Omaha, that provides free period products to anyone needing them. Students, staff, and faculty can stop by Student Health and Counseling area and receive a one-month or three-month supply of products.
When visiting the pantry, students are asked to scan a QR code and/or fill out a paper form to collect demographic information. Students may use the pantry as often as they need the service.
