Testing Center Mission
The primary mission of the Testing Center is to assess students' abilities so they can achieve academic success, personal growth, or career development.
The Testing Center supports the college's mission statement by offering a high quality, secure, confidential, and friendly testing environment to meet the needs of students and the region it serves. Our focus is to provide meaningful services to our customers while also promoting their academic, career, and personal goals.
Location
The Testing Center is located on the Norfolk Campus in the College Welcome Center. You can enter Door #3 labeled "Testing and Disability Services" and proceed to Room 1252 or 1256.

Testing Requirements and Guidelines
The Testing Center strives to provide secure, accurate testing and assessment services in an efficient and consistent manner. To fulfill this goal, we ask the following for each test:
REMOTE ACCUPLACER: Students seeking to enroll at Northeast, but cannot test at the main or extended campuses, may take the ACCUPLACER assessment at another location. Please contact the Testing Center to arrange a Remote ACCUPLACER test at the preferred site. Once students are registered for the ACCUPLACER assessment, contact the chosen location to schedule a testing appointment. Students seeking to take the ACCUPLACER assessment at a Testing Center of their choice need to contact the other institution to register for a Remote ACCUPLACER assessment.
ACT: Students requesting an ACT exam must register online at www.act.org.
ASE: Candidates requesting an ASE test must call the Testing Center to schedule an appointment prior to testing. The ASE test fee is paid directly to ASE through its official website www.ase.com. Candidates must provide the following information to the Testing Center when scheduling an appointment: ASE Eligibility Number, Primary Phone Number, and Test(s) to be taken.
ATI TEAS Assessment: Students requesting an ATI TEAS test must contact the Testing Center to schedule an appointment prior to testing. The testing fee is paid to ATI testing with a valid credit or debit card on the day of the test. Students must also a have current government-issued ID with a photo, signature, and address.
CLEP: Students requesting a CLEP test must contact the Testing Center to schedule an appointment prior to testing. The CLEP test fee is paid directly to CLEP through its official website wwww.clep.collegeboard.org before the day of the test. Students must create an account and pre-pay the CLEP fee with a valid credit or debit card for the exam. After the students complete their account, they must print a non-refundable testing voucher, which is valid for 6 months. Students must bring the printed CLEP Voucher Ticket to the Testing Center in order to test. Students must have a current government-issued identification with photo and signature, and pay a non-refundable administration fee to Northeast.
Distance Learning Exams: Prior to scheduling a testing appointment at Northeast, students must contact the institution responsible for the exam and request approval for the Testing Center to proctor the course exam and other testing specifics. Students requesting a distance learning test must schedule an appointment with the Testing Center prior to testing. A non-refundable administration fee may be required in order to test in the Testing Center.
DSST: Students requesting a DSST test must contact the Testing Center to schedule an appointment prior to testing. The test fee is paid to DSST with a valid credit or debit card on the day of the test. Students must also have a current government-issued identification with photo and signature, as well as pay a non-refundable administration fee to Northeast. www.getcollegecredit.com
Instructor's Make-Up Exams: Students requesting a make-up exam must have their instructor's permission and contact the Testing Center to schedule an appointment.
MAP: Students requesting a MAP test should contact the Testing Center in order to schedule an appointment prior to testing. Students must have a valid government-issued or current school-issued photo ID and a Northeast college wide ID number on file.
Pearson VUE Tests: Candidates requesting a Pearson VUE exam must register with Pearson VUE at www.pearsonvue.com.
Pearson VUE GED: Students requesting a Pearson VUE GED exam must register online at www.ged.com or can they can call 1-877-EXAM GED ((877) 392-6433).
Praxis I and Praxis II: Candidates requesting a Praxis I, Core Academic Skills for Educators (CORE), or a Praxis II exam must register with the Educational Testing Services at www.ets.org/praxis.
Testing with Accommodations: Students requesting to test with accommodations must contact the Director of Disability Services at (402) 844-7343 and have their Testing Access Accommodations Letter sent to the Testing Center prior to testing.
The following policies are in place to ensure the academic integrity of the exams. The Testing Center administers these tests on behalf of the Northeast faculty, we require all students adhere to uniform rules and regulations. These procedures allow us to protect both the student in our testing center, as well as the academic integrity of the test.
- The student must make an appointment for their exam, as space is limited in the Testing Center.
- The student must begin the test on time, and no later than 15 minutes after the scheduled test time. If the student is more than 15 minutes late, the appointment may need to be rescheduled due to limited availability.
- If the appointment was scheduled by the instructor and the student arrives more than 15 minutes after the scheduled test time, the Testing Center must receive notification directly from the instructor in the form of an email, phone call, or a written note indicating that the Testing Center may administer the student's exam.
- If a student needs to reschedule an exam, the student may reschedule with the Testing Center by calling, emailing, or visiting the Testing Center.
- The student must bring current physical photo identification to the Testing Center.

- The student is given the Testing Center Expectations and Code of Conduct prior to testing. The student is required to sign that they have received, read and understand the Testing Center Code of Conduct during the check-in process.
- Food (including gum) and drink are prohibited in the Testing Center and testing rooms; unless, food and/or drink is an approved accommodation.
- The Testing Center is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
- All personal items will be stored in the lockers outside of the Testing Center. (Purses, wallets, keys, watches, sun glasses, jewelry more than ¼ inch, backpack, books or notes unless otherwise permitted.)
- All cellphones, pagers, activity trackers (Fitbit, Garmin, Apple watch and TomTom) and all other electronic devices will be turned off and stored in a locker outside the Testing Center.
- Portable stereos, radios, MP3 players, or headphones are not permitted in the Testing Center.
- All coats, hats of any kind, or other head covering, are not allowed in the Testing Center except for religious or medical reasons. If the student's clothing has a hood, it must not cover the student's head at any time while testing.
- The Testing Center will supply all scratch paper. Used and unused scratch paper will be turned in at the completion of the exam.
- The student may not leave the Testing Center without permission once testing has begun.
- The student may not access his/her personal belongings without the permission of the Testing Center staff once testing has begun.
- If a break is permitted during testing, the student may not access his/her cell phone or any other electronic device.
- The student may be asked to turn his/her pockets inside-out.
- No children or visitors are allowed in the Testing Center.
- No tobacco or tobacco substitute is allowed.
Need Disability Services before you test?
Students with disabilities who are taking a test and/or plan to attend Northeast may need reasonable accommodations, modifications, or auxiliary aids/assistive technology in order to have equal access to offered programs and services. If accommodations are needed, please contact the Director of Disability Services at (402) 844-7343. Documentation regarding a student's disability is required.
