Hand-on, Diesel Camp at Northeast Offers Students Glimpse into Possible Career

With skilled diesel technicians in high demand, students have a unique chance this summer to get their hands dirty and step into a real-world career path.

Imagine diagnosing an engine issue, working side-by-side with industry pros, and gaining the confidence to see yourself in a skilled, hands-on career.

That’s exactly what students will do at the Titan Diesel Camp at Northeast Community College — a two-day immersive experience where high school students get their hands dirty by learning real-world skills in diesel technology.

From turning wrenches to learning diagnostic procedures on heavy equipment, it’s a chance for students to explore a career path they might not have considered — and one that’s in high demand across the region.

Held in partnership with Titan Machinery, the camp gives students a taste of what it’s like to work as a diesel technician. Campers work collaboratively through hands-on mechanical projects and solve real-world problems that regularly come across diesel service desks.

They get the opportunity to work with the same tools and technology used in the field. But beyond technical skills, students also connect with experienced instructors, industry professionals, and peers who share their interests.

For many, it can be more than just a summer camp. It can be a spark.

The benefits extend beyond the students. Camps like this one help build a stronger local workforce pipeline for an industry that’s always looking for skilled technicians. And by offering early exposure to careers in ag and diesel technology, Northeast and Titan are helping students make informed choices about their futures.

The Titan Diesel Camp will be held at Northeast’s state-of-the-art diesel labs, where students will have access to industry-standard equipment and instruction. Registration is open now, and families can use promo code AG50 to receive 50% off the camp fee.
